Moorabbin Bowling Club - SEEKING PLAYING COACH
The Moorabbin Bowling Club is seeking an eager and innovative playing coach for the 2026/2027 season. You will lead player development, conduct coaching sessions and help grow and advance the club’s pennant performance.
Requirements:
Enthusiasm for building club culture
Playing coach with appropriate bowling accreditations
Experience in developing players at all stages, with an emphasis on higher level performance.
About Moorabbin Bowling Club
Moorabbin Bowling Club founded in 1954 is a strong, financially sound community-based club with an active volunteer network. It presently boasts 3 greens, including a showcase tifdwarf grass, and a recently laid sand based synthetic green. Situated in Melbourne’s southeast approx. 15kms from the CBD, it is adjacent to the Moorabbin Reserve precinct which comprises the St Kilda Football Club training and administrative base and the Danny Frawley centre.
As a minimum for 2026/27 Moorabbin Bowling Club will field
· Saturday Pennant: Division 1, 2, 4 (2 x teams), 6
· Midweek Pennant: Division 1, 3, 5
· SDELBA (Tues Night): Premier, 3, 4, 5.
We currently have 150 members, including over 100 active pennant players, and recently established a junior bowls program. Moorabbin wants to build on its current program to ensure sustainability and success into the future.
Role Description:
Ideally, we are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to take on the dual role of both coach and player. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching, guidance and support to all team members, with a focus on developing technique, skills, strategy and game plans. They will conduct weekly training for pennant teams and possess the ability to play in our top team.
They must possess
· strong communication, planning and interpersonal skills
· a team first attitude
· capacity to liaise with support coaches, selectors, team skippers and captains
· demonstrated history of leadership and success.
· ability to meet player retention and recruitment requirements.
Remuneration:
An appropriate remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
